With prodding from my instructor and lack of interest in people wanting to talk about ND, I am changing my argument paper to North Dakota's unemployment rate. It feels very unnatural as I can go to bls.gov and see that North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation, but I know that is not the point. The point is for me to argue WHY ND has the lowest on unemployment rate and where it comes from. Not where the actual number comes from.
As I continue on my quest for knowledge on a topic that seems unimportant to the rest of the world, I would like to point out that if only other states would follow some of the same models from ND's government, normal people wouldn't have to worry if they were going to continue getting their paycheck tomorrow, or if they will be in the same house and watch their grandchildren grow up in, or if they will lose any family treasures due to financial instability. If only we could all be like North Dakota.

Moving On
I started thinking of the reasons I started writing about North Dakota and the unemployment rate and figured ND would be a great place to continue my argument essay. What better way to start a debate to say things like: "I feel ND is a great place to live over other states, because..." Most people around me, can't even remember I am from ND and say things like: "Where are you from again South Dakota?" or "Is that were Mount Rushmore is?" or my favorite "Isn't that in Canada where they still have stagecoaches?"
For my research paper I have decided to argue why it would be GOOD to live in ND. This goes against everything I was taught and everything I tried to get away from since I was a child. My father would tell me reasons why North Dakota was bad and Colorado was good all of the time. If he was still around, he would still be arguing the fact that CO is better, no matter what. I figured if I can write this paper, I can accomplish anything.
I claim that moving to ND and living there would be a good
thing to do, because there is a low unemployment rate with plenty of jobs
created, it is a safe and good place for kids to grow up in, and the government
shows a surplus of money which can only benefit everyone.
Now your turn. Why is North Dakota good or bad?
